I locate the scientist and proceed to fight the enemies. After I kill so many of them a cutscene attempts to play but does not. The screen then goes black and I can hear music. I can hit O to bring up the objectives and J to bring up journal. I can quicksave and quickload etc but other than that the screen is completely black and stays this way.

I've tried disabling antivirus, running in multiple compatibility modes, running as administrator etc. Seems like a bink issue to me, but I'm not completely sure.

I've also reinstalled the game outside of the UAC controlled program files directory and loaded up the save to no avail. I've tried multiple saves, restarting the mission etc it always does this during the end cutscene of The Scientist.

I have not tried restarting the entire campaign, because I would rather not.

Any ideas?

Hi Oldballs, I know this post is over a year old and you probably won't even see this, but just in case did you ever find a solution to this issue? I am having the identical problem and it is extremely frustrating as I really want to continue the campaign! Thanks in advance if you ever discovered a work around and would be willing to share it man.

I never had a problem like that. What kind of system are you guys running?
