Dear all,

Does the way the game is programmed make system processor idling possible ? Because my fans scream like hell when the game runs...

In the beginning of the game (i.e. before mission 1 is started) I tried with system-limited processor power to 50% which seemed to be OK, with the fans being much more calm of course. Starting mission 1 made 50% unsufficient so I reverted back to the good old 100%, but that raised the question : does the game only take the processor time it needs, or does it take whatever it is given ? Btw I activated Vsync, which tends to limit the framerate...

I remember I had this problem with Heroes of Might and Magic III, but 50% processor power was far more than enough in that case :D

And thanks very much for that nice game !

Signal Ops will generally try to use as much CPU as possible to make the game run smoother. It also runs on two cores, so this will contribute to higher CPU use. Basically the only time Signal Ops would use less than your full CPU is if you had a weak video card that could not keep up with a fast CPU.
I see... but one could argue that beyond some point there is no more perceived performance increase, which means additional power is consumed in vain.

Anyway, thanks for your reply, which make things clear.

Best regards !
