Now that I have figured out how to use it I greatly recommend the editor. You can easily change anything. I particularly thought that 8 civs on a medium map was to few. This is changed to however many you want with a couple of clicks. The editor can be used to handicap the game if you think the AI is to strong or too weak. VAlues of units can be uppped or downed; resources can have their values changed; the effects of buildings and/or wonders can be changed ect ect
