Lebesgue: I'm curious, which parts make you cringe? There are some parts which has aged but some parts are still great. For example police station shootout or the shootout in the bar are still great. I also love Kyle's dreams/memories sequences.

On the other hand, when I grew up the young John Conner started to annoy me in T2. Kind of typical Hollywood portrayal of annoying teenager. I still like T2 but less so than when I was younger.

Anyway, nothing wrong with having different tastes, makes the world more interesting :)

mystikmind2000: the two main things that made me cringe the most;

1) The quality of the audio and background music is horrendous.
2) the special effects have not aged well at all - you have to admit that rite?

That's why i say possibly a digital remaster might bring it back to being a good movie again?
I agree about the special effect at the end of the movie. Objectively they did age quite a bit, But to be honest, I am rather amazed how well they look given that the movie was shot in early 80s on a small budget.

Regarding the quality of the sound, I believe that it was remastered for the most recent blu-ray release. And I love the soundtrack of T1, a masterpiece of synthesizer music.

Btw, for me T1 is like the old Star Wars movie. Sure I can see that OT have aged and that the new episodes have better SE. But that does not mean that the OT is not great anymore.

Old Star Wars movies kick arse.... but they did not rely on computer generated, mostly live costumes and models, so with allot of hard work it can look very good. Basically their robots were a remote controlled vacuum cleaner and a guy in a tin suit - so it can still look good today, whereas T1 robot had to be computer generated, so, nowadays it looks crappy.
