Hi all, I just bought SMAC in the store and downloaded it. so far so good, then i extract the game to my special folder called /Volumes/Extern/Spiele (I'm German). There i have already a couple of GoG's great games, which all work fine.

But when I start SMAC, I get an black screen along with the cursor, when I click with the mouse the cursor changes to an cross (so far as I remember the days back when I played SMAC on Windows, the game cursor) but still nothing happens.

I accepted that the program WhiteSkin X11 have access (to whatever) yet still no picture.

I already tried to reinstall it and created a new user as well, still no results. FreeSpace 1, which uses WhiteSkin as well works really good, so it cannot be this 3rd party software.

Any ideas?

Maybe try installing it directly to the Applications folder, at least to see that it runs that way.

I did this. Same result. First the short bluescreen, typical to GoG games, then a black screen. What me wonder is that the typical Gog Window (where I can choose between single and multiplayer and so on) doesn't show up.
