Well, I already own an original CD of Shogo, and it works fine - but requires a manual install, copying all the files just the right way from the CD to my hard drive. Further, it needs the CD in the drive to play.

So, I bought the GoG version. It seems the GoG version isn't as up to date as I patched mine, it can't do all the possible resolutions I can (it can do 1280x768, but not 1366x768), and it plays very jerkily at full detail...

However, when I copy the GoG executable to my old installation, I get full detail and no CD!

Happy puppy here...
The GOG version already has the latest official patch applied (2.2.14), what patch did you install?

Good question - I don't know! The patch I still have seems to be 2.2.14 full, which seems to be the same. But I have more choices of resolution, and it runs smoother...

This gets stranger... The GoG version seems to install on Win95/98 compatibility mode, which limits the display to 1280x768. By removing this, I can get 1366x768, like my CD version. So, if I'm correct and GoG installs this with Compatibility mode on, take it off & it gets better.

EDIT: Sorted out problems with Catalyst Control Centre, which actually had no bearing on the matter!
