I think this is the one and only ending. What did you think about it?

I liked it, it's really well handled, how control is in part taken away from you, and all you can do is cry out to the cubs and walk... when the bird hit me a second time I realized half-panicked "damn, this is it... this is it..." and all I wanted was for the cubs to get safely to 'shelter'. I understood.

I want to congratulate the devs, because this game, as cute and as linear as it is, made me feel worried sick, tense, and relieved in ways that all the Call of Duties in the world probably never will. It's a pretty straightforward version of motherhood, but it's so well done. I loved it.
Well.. in the last level...

I discovered a hole quite early in the level and the controls are taken away from me when I try to enter it (Badger turns 180 and runs a few steps). Why?

Then the first scripted eagle encounter in that long run without cover to the hole.. I've tried dropping a mouse and everything.... so you are SUPPOSED to lose a cub here? Good.

Then the open area. I am in a grass piece, but the eagle WOULDN'T LEAVE.

After running from place to place I really don't know where to go, and now you tell me you are supposed to die and this is the only ending. Really? If this is what they wanted, then why not scrap that level and show a movie?

I get it, build them up and tear them down, but the tearing down part was MUCH too late for being able to beat every prior level by doing everything right (I have still all cubs).

If this is true, I really can not recommend this game.
The ending is really ugly: basically if you manage to save all your "children", they ran off on grass, but you die.
If you can't save them, you die too.
Disappointing, and the game has not replay value at all. If you manage to save all the cubs it's done, nothing else to see. And it is very short, I fully completed it in 48 minutes.

The only places that are not accessible this way - are those previously visited (for ex. exit of previous level). I can't remember of any newly discovered holes that are blocked as you describe.

I remember this one. If you're not extra cautious (you should be, mother nature is dangerous!) you will most likely repeat this part due to a loss of one of your cubs. It resembles to my first experience with that confusing night time travel in forest. The important thing is that you don't have to loose any of your cubs, which can be protected until the very end!

If you talk about the ending - I suppose that grass area isn't high enough to hide you as a fully grown badger.

When it comes to animals, I prefer happy endings too. But the important thing is - did you watch that final scene after the closing credits? It could help you to understand the whole journey of our little badger family. Also, look at children's book in bonus content in your GOG game shelf.

I didn't even get to the ending.
Stupid bird ate them. :-(
I was thinking my badgers need jetpacks and laser rilfe helmets. :-3
While the ending is fine for me - to eat and be eaten fits the nature aspect well imo - I found the game overall a bit disappointing. I expected much more sandbox, with exploration and random encounters, but its just a linear run through with 100% scripted events. Doesn't feel like nature at all, but rather like a plattformer. I didn't get immersed, so no great experience. The art style is nice and different, but didn't add to immersion either. The good thing, the game only takes two hours for one walkthrough, so everybody can and should try for himself - tastes are different.
Just as DeMignon said. I never got into it, so it was just a boring micromanagement with super easy puzzles.

I was more relieved that the game finally ended, than to see my only cub left escape.
