Hi, all. My boyfriend and I have spent the past 2.5 hours playing Sanitarium. (I've played it before; he has not.) The original version I had would not load, so we got the GOG version today. We got halfway through the fight with the pumpkin man near the end of Chapter 2, and the cursor disappeared, and we couldn't move. I guess this is the infamous 'Chapter 2 lockup' I heard about earlier today when we were trying to find a fix for the first problem we had - getting it to load at all. ;)


Anyhow, I'm hoping that someone here will know of a way that we can install the patch and keep going from where we are (fight with pumpkin man), rather than having to start all the way over again. I see the patch, and I've also seen people saying that beginning a brand new game is the only option. Is that really true?!?

This is a bit late, but I can assure you that you do not need to buy a new version of the game in order to make it playable. First off, what operating system are you running?
