Hi guys, the game crash after the initial intro logos so I can’t play it. On a MacBook Pro 16” with i7 9750H, 16 GB DDR4 2667 MHz and AMD Radeon Pro 5300M 4 GB GDDR6.
The games works perfectly on an older iMac 21,5”, without a dedicated graphics (just the Intel Iris Pro 6100 of the i5 5575R, and 8 GB of RAM LPDDR3 1867 MHz).

Both with Windows 10 Pro, I tried almost everything and I can’t understand why. I must miss something (and that’s highly possible as I’m a very noob of Windows).
Worth saying that the same applies to Saints Row IV, the difference is that I can play it on the MacBook Pro 16” in Windows 95 compatibility mode (GOOT won’t event start in Windows 95 mode).
On the same 16”, I can play Saints Row The Third Remastered flawlessly and from the first try, with all graphics to maximum but 1920x1200 resolution (and also F1 2020 and Forza Horizon 4, but that’s off topic).
Also same for Saints Row 2, hangs on “Loading 5%” on the 16” (eventually I play it on the MBP 16” in macOS, I “ported” it in macOS with Porting Kit) but I don’t need to solve this.
It’s ok to play Gat out of Hell on that iMac (why not), but I would prefer to play it also on the MBP 16”.
Any help would be very appreciated, thanks!

Worth of mention:
- same problem with the AMD Radeon drivers came installed with Boot Camp, and after I updated them with the AMD Adrenaline drivers of December 2020 from bootcampdrivers.com;
- the games are installed in C:\
- GOG versions of the Saints Row games (Saints Row 2 I own also the Steam version as it was at 1,99$ and I thought to try it, but does the same, stuck at Loading 5%)
- I tried running the latest DirectX run-times (etc etc);
- tried setting the affinity to not using hyper treading and using only 4 cores (and then tried with just 2 cores), same problem.
- tried clean boot of Windows, same;
EDIT: also tried editing display.ini, no success

Ciao Riccardo, benvenuto su GOG.

Unfortunately these games are infamously known for some inexplicable crashes.

About Saints Row: Gat out of Hell try running it as administrator and check if some other software (mainly your antivirus) is preventing it for running correctly.

About Saints Row 2 try going to the save data directory (%LOCALAPPDATA%\THQ\Saints Row 2\) and either deleting the configuration file settings.dat or replacing it with a windowed settings file you can download from here.

Windows 95?! Saints Row games have been published in Windows 7, 8 and 10 era: are you sure you need to set such an older compatibility mode?

oglahai: [...] I can now confirm that moving the install to C did fix that issue for me.
However the OP clearly stated that the game is installed in drive C.
