Anyone know if there is a way to play the game in wide screen? One that doesn't require HEX editing? :)

Well it isn't HEX editing exactly since you don't need to do anything to the binaries, it is just a registry edit:

They do have the values for common resolutions if you don't want to figure them out yourself.
Hey apeman, thanks a lot for the tip!
I've been playing Sacrifice for ages and never knew there was a way to run it in widescreen!

No problem! I just replayed Sacrifice a few months ago and was looking for a widescreen solution myself. There's lots of good information over at widescreegamingforum.
Sadly, this workaround had some glitch. Some of the object disapeared when you are looking at them from some angle, which make the game not enjoyable at all.

Sadly, that's true. =(
Flying enemies disappear at a certain angle with the widescreen workaround.
It happens on both my laptop with GMA 950 & on a PC with a ATI x1950pro if I remember correctly.
I've experienced the disappearing objects issue as well. It happens for me when I tilt the camera upwards too far, though I haven't done any thorough testing.
Considering how the widescreen tweak is more hack than fix, I think the way it modifies the camera's position and viewing angles simply isn't taken into account in the object culling code (or whatever it may be called, I'm not a programmer.)
Thanks for the positive comments about the widescreengamingforum! We do our best to help! Stop by anytime.
EDIT--problem occurs at any angle, depends upon distance to camera and field of view. From digging through the game files and registry data it seems the only solution would be a source code change or highly skilled hex editing. (neither of which I can do)
