I don't know if anyone else has seen this. I picked Sacrifice up through GOG, did the necessary registry work to get it running in widescreen, chose the startup option without T&L, performed the procedure described here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/sacrifice/windows_7_graphics_fix_here, and genuinely thought I'd fixed all my issues.

Then, in the course of the tutorial, I found that whenever the game seizes control of the camera, it causes my character and an area around my character to disappear. Any object entering withing a short distance of my character simply fails to render, as do any creatures in that "aura." Has anyone else seen this? Any ideas of how to fix it?

I've got exactly the same problem but still haven't found solution. Any ideas? Been trying to google it but found nothing and almost all Sacrifice websites are down now :f
Unfortunately, I don't think there is a complete workaround for widescreen in Sacrifice. It should run nicely at 1600x1200 or 1440x1080 though. In my opinion it is a small sacrifice (hehe) to play at a 4:3 resolution. From the looks of it, I think this issue is caused or at least related to some viewing frustum code and without access to source, this just can't be worked around.
From the WSGF site for Sacrifice (the source of the widescreen fix):

"Single player anomalies
Widescreen resolutions have invisible objects at certain camera distances. The problem is the most severe at long camera distances."

There are no fixes for the issue, so you'll either have to live with it or go back to 4:3.

Yep, it's true. Few days ago I switched back to 1152 x 900 which is the highest 4:3 resolution that works for me (without this invisibility glitch). Thanks for replies anyway ;)
Great game BTW!
