Hello everybody, I'm loving this game but having some trouble on the persephone mission to destroy the 3 hellmouths. I've gone pure persephone.
No matter what I seem to do, I'm getting my bum kicked by Sorcha's gang. Her force is comprised of spitfires and four of the machine-gunners (couldn't find their name in the manual) whenever I run into her.
I've tried various mixed groups defending my altar (their attacks seem to concentrate on there until you've gotten 3 manaliths). After their first two attacks they usually stop coming, so I have to run out and rain of frog a manalith and grab one or two souls.
This eventually lets me build up a decent group worth about 12 souls (usually trolls and gnomes), but it never matters. Sorcha shows up, I beam back to my altar, her army comes, and I'm destroyed. This wiz just cuts through em like nothing. I'm using healing aura/protector, and that makes em last 4 seconds instead of 2... but we still lose despite my best efforts at keeping everybody alive.
I've tried ignoring Sorcha, but that leave me with a few problems: 1. I don't have enough souls to guardian a decent defence but also go after the hellmouths; 2. She's quite pesky and goes out of her way to annoy me, as she should.
So... I'm sure there's something I'm missing, and that's why I'm asking for help here. Any tips for this mission, or for general strategy that I seem to be missing? I've tried this demned mission eight times, and I don't seem to be getting any better at it.
Thanks!

LOL
This is easy mission only attack her , pyro has a powerfula attack but a poor defense.
She has like 2 warmonger and one or 2 pyromaniacs at the beginning., i don´t remember.
The best way in my opinion is kill Sorcha. You can kill her warmongers with ents ( this creature has a shield and can be very tough) Of course with rainbow can be more tough. lol
You should attack her quickly because she steals souls of zombies.
Remember these words: Manaliths is power, if she don´t have liths she is nothing.
You can´t use a defensive strategy only attack. There you can find zombies if you want souls. You wizard needs 2 liths if you want enough mana.
If you defeat Sorcha those hellmouths will not problem for you.
How many creatures are at the beginning?
I mean your creatures.
Another thing, a warmonger cant against an ent but 2 warmonger can do.
If she has 2 warmonger against 2 ents you know the result.

I eventually managed to complete this going with a purely offensive strategy. One big thing that I was missing was using only 2 manahoars. I brought those up to 4, helping me to support my units a whole lot more, and I also abandoned setting any guardians - straight mobile force. Those two worked well.
However, there are definitely a majority of missions where you can sit back on your first manalith and slowly defend until you've gathered nearly all of the enemy's souls besides what they have guardian'd to their own points. Works very well on MOST of the missions that I've played, just not on this one.
Here's a Tip: When Sorcha attacks, take the Ent you got in the beginning (Not Toldor!) and put his shield on. Send him after the Warmongers and constantly cast Speed Up and heal him with Rainbow and Heal (Not with Healing Aura: It heals a lot less than Heal or Rainbow). If he dies leave your manahoars, speed yourself up and quickly take his souls. Then summon a new Ent. (Rain of Frogs too will nicely hurt Warmongers)
After the Warmongers die, send Toldor after Sorcha. Speed him up and heal him with the two spells. When she is dead, kill as many other creatures in the area and quickly convert their souls.
