Is GOG working out some deal to get everybody online with a special CD-key or individual keys or whatever?
I don't know if any of the other games available here use CD-keys, but I know this one does and I'll definitely buy it if it they aren't any problems playing on the official servers...
It should work fine. They list mutiplayer in the game description page.
Maybe not. Got the game here just a short while ago, but no CD-key to be found any place for setting up a online account. :(
Can we get a official response on this ?
I need to know if multiplayer works before i buy it.

I sent them a email about this, hopefully they will reply back soon. While its not a big deal for me as I was planing on just playing LAN games with my wife, it would still be nice to have in case I talk a couple friends into getting it so we could play with them over the net.
I don't mind either really, but do let us know if you get a response, antibonk.
Cheers.
If you guys haven't seen, to get MP working you have to send an request to support to get the MP code. They don't have it automated yet, however.

Also, please be patient. Some of us have gotten our keys for multiplayer sooner than others, but everyone who buys a copy WILL get codes.
I haven't got my yet but it's okay, I'm still messing around with the single player.
BTW Can you import the single player characters to mp, or do the MP characters only work in MP?
IIRC, for multi-player Open mode, you can import your single-player character, and export the MP character back to SP mode. For MP closed mode, your character is MP only. In open mode, you will often come across people who hacked the character files on their computer, so it's ok if you don't mind playing with cheaters, or want to cheat yourself. Closed mode is better for not having cheaters. I liked playing in Open mode myself, not because I was a cheater, but it was nice to beef up my SP character in a couple of hours of play and then import it back to the SP game.
I received my keys today and was able to boot up and play a bit of mp.
Reminds me a bit of battle.net..hmmmm...

hi there,

are these codes needed when playing via LAN?
I thought Deep Silver took down the servers.
Yeah I was under the impression that the servers were offline and that you needed to play using hamachi (much like Sacred 1).
If the GoG version has been modified to allow online play again/allow direct IP that would be pretty awesome but I find it unlikely.
Guys this thread has been necro'd. The last post in it is from 2008 pre-necro.

As far as I know Multiplayer without Hamachi is totally disabled.
