The game hangs on startup and won't load. Trying to use Task Manager is impossible. Any solutions?

None whatsoever I've found, it just started on my galaxy test, hangs so bad it freezes the PC has to be ended by the Windows Task Manager, depressing.
EDIT: My issue is with Galaxy, game is functional outside the platform, try Running as admin, it fixed all the issues outside of Galaxy, if not, try compatibility Windows98/ME, and finally, here's another thread. http://www.gog.com/forum/sacred_series/sacred_gold_keeps_stalling_at_the_load_screen_at_boot_up
