Has anyone been using it sufficiently to know how it is
and does it improve the game sufficiently to warrant using it?

Thanks
Check out darkmatters, it's a great fan based forum for Sacred.

I haven't used it extensively but I don't have any issues yet (other than bug fixes I think they added quests and a few items). I wonder how many quests there are in Sacred 2 now, maybe 700-800 now.

The 1.5 patch adds more items, quests, and a few extra bosses here and there. There is even the "Diablo" mod, which I feel makes the game more difficult.

In another thread you said there were bugs in the 1.5 patch
have you tried it and changed your mind?

It was actually just a bug with the uninstaller for version 1.4, which was making it difficult for people to upgrade to the newest version. But there shouldn't be any problems with a clean installation.

Been using it since release and nary an issue. Didn't have any problems with 1.4 either. Essentially, I only play S2 vanilla if I'm playing it on the PS3, heh.

Currently rocking a BFG Saraphim right now with a lightsaber for a backup. While lightsabers were in the vanilla game as well, the CM adds more and makes them somewhat easier to find.

Thanks for the replies guys :)
I installed the patch

Avoid Darkmatters. Bunch of unprofessional people over there, especially that person called gogoblender. As long as you lick their heels and bow for them it's fine, but as soon as you have any critics they show their ugly face.
I was a member out there for a while and officially i still am, but i haven;t used my account there for quite some time after a nasty run in with that gogoblender dude. If i recall it right then i made a post about that cm patch and it was about it's features. Had some questions about it. Just a normal post and no calling names or such. Then i got a message of gogoblender that my posts would be monitored now and such. I wrote back that i didn't accept this kind of behaviour and never looked back afterwards. That gogoblender acted like a dictator and that is not how you should treat people. Better go to the official forums.

As for the patch itself; haven't used it and problaby won't do it as it adds gamebreaking stuff as well. It is nice that it fixes stuff and unlocks items which are there, but were hidden, but i don't dig the extra stuff.
Hehe, yeah, they aren't exactly professional but as I recall the main forum aren't either, it's typical non-paid moderators with too much powers over members but I never had any issues with them, I didn't post too much too, I read most of the helpful posts how to build your characters.

DarkMatters is pretty mellow now. It looks like I joined after you made your farewells to the forum in 2010, but in the last 5 years I haven't noticed any abuses of power though I also don't know what went on behind the scenes before my time.

I will say this, I'm a moderator there now and as far as I can see everyone is made to feel welcome. I think more importantly, the site is still the central hub of activity and discussion for the game, as well as hosting the SacredWiki. Official forums, not so much.

I continue to make changes and enhancements to the game, as well as updating the SacredWiki and keeping various mods from over the years up to date. I'm also on the CM Patch team as of v1.5 in a limited capacity.

In other words, if there was something gamebreaking you found about the CM Patch, there are still friendly ears willing to hear and address it. :)

You know, this got me thinking, if there was enough interest I could probably put together a "patch lite" version with just the vital fixes and nothing else. Although I'm not sure where I would draw the line. An awful lot of new stuff was already there in the code just not functioning.
