I have a modern quad core machine - and sacred was running OK but not great. It did not seem as responsive. So I noticed this thread and I thought maybe I should try playing with the procesor affinity and it made a big difference. I used the koma solution. Its a little clunky to permanently set up. The targetting lag problems seem to have decreased and might have gone away as well.
