Hi everyone. I just watched some gameplay videos of this game and was wondering about the depth of the combat system. At first glance it seems reasonably simple; straightforward hack and slash. Can I expect the depth of the likes of Blade of Darkness, or more recently the Souls games, or is that expecting too much?
I don't know about Blade of Darkness, but expecting Rune's combat system to perform like Dark Souls is not going to make you happy. Rune is an action-oriented, hack and slash bonanza at best, simple to get into, but fun to play nonetheless.
Nothing with Blade of Darkness or Dark Souls depth but awesome nonetheless.

You'll see some advanced techniques if you decide to play online against some veterans. Watching videos makes you think that the game is all about striking first than your enemy but there is much more than that.
I can live with that. Thanks for the heads up :)
Rune plays like a melee-fest version of Quake.
