I'm about to upgrade from Microsoft Windows 7: Home Premium to Microsoft Windows 8: Pro and the Microsoft Windows 8 Compatibility Assistant indicates that RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe is not compatible... In fact, this is one of the last items on my list that is not compatible.

When will an be made available for RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe?

The game runs just fine on Windows 8, no problems with compability.

It doesn't work on my computer under Windows 8. I receive an error message saying that RCT.exe crashed. The only way I can run it is on compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3.

I'm running it just fine on my laptop. Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

About the only problem I have is the GOG program that starts RCT doesn't want to give control back to me after exiting RCT (the workatound is WinKey + I --> Power --> Restart and once rebooted, things are normal)

I find that right-clicking the taskbar a couple of times works fine and is less hassle.

Thanks for that. I'll try that next time I launch the game. I never understood what the Closing RCT window was all about. (I recognize the launching RCT from the original CD version, but not that other window - "taskkill?")

Unfortunately for myself, RollerCoaster Tycoon Deluxe's worked flawlessly on Windows 8, but now with Windows 7 installed, it generates a weird pink/distorted color pattern.

Moral of the story? Works great on Windows 8.
