I open the game, load into Forest Frontier and the game minimizes back to desktop after a couple of seconds. Is there a reason why this happens?

also happens to me. I installed it yesterday and it worked just fine, but now I have the same problem

RCT1/2? If the latter then for better compatibility on modern systems, not to mention several quality of life improvements (e.g. proper widescreen), use openrct2.
