In the past two months two games of old got remade and release - RoTT and one with an Asian Warrior flavor.
Gud gawd...THIS is how you do a remake.
This is the epitome of - all I want is the original game with updates that acknowledge hardware advances.
This IS RoTT.
I am giggling. I am thinking, "Yeah, I remember that!" I am enjoying having my ass handed to me time after time. Even with the Unreal engine.
Even if you don't invoke the classic mode, the music is fun, the levels look like the original only better, it is the same game - THAT'S a compliment.
A proper remake - not an attempt at reimagining the original. This is a game in which it was said - the original was good enough, let's just really update the hardware implementation.
The other game seeks to reinvent what was good in 1997 and fails miserably.
Bravo RoTT, bravo.
