anybody know how I can go about recording footage for this game?

Fraps seems to have trouble with it.

Check the 'capture' folder in your DOSBox install folder after doing it. Just checked it; works fine here.

You've probably already figured this out since these posts are 4 years old, but you could also use HyperCam.

How are posts from late 2010 four years old?

And considering the recording: The internal recording feature of DosBox is the best method to record game footage. Unlike any external tool DosBox can even out most irregularities that may occurr during the recording. The result is a clean fluent video including clean sound.
