in the original Rise of the triad, is there a mouselook option? because keyboard aiming sucks and I need to look around properly. links to mouselook mods would help too.

I would try WinROTTGL. It is nicely explained here. The link is a guide for the Steam version, but I have successfully used it with my gog copy.

The original RoTT lets you use mouselook while holding the aim button, but the vertical axis is inverted relative to modern games - moving the mouse forward looks down and moving it back looks up.
