Having bought this game a couple of days ago, I was about to give up playing this because of the impossible difficulty level. I was having trouble with controlling the cars where they would spin out of control with almost anything that caused imbalance.

When going to the options menu I had ticked v-sync on, but I know there can be contol related problems with v-sync on, so I turned it off.
This made all the difference in the world, I'm not sure if it was just the input lag but I also noticed more forgiving handling on different road surfaces.

I hope this can help anyone else too or perhaps confirm I'm not blabbering. =)

The game is indeed still very difficult but I so far got to the Platinum Cup in simulation mode, with v-sync on I couldn't even win a single race.

but the game is ever too speed for me and too hard, i cant win every were,

i use CPU-eater (on my pc 1ghz oF cpu 1g ram and 1graphiq) for slow down the game, and have a wish to win,

I tried it, but apparently my problem is that I just suck at this game. Hahaha! I bought it because I love the Mario Kart series and I used to play lots of Micro Machines on the SNES, way back when, and Re-Volt seemed to have quite a lot of the same vibe. The premise is interesting, but even on the second-to-last difficulty setting (the one above RC Junior) it gets really hard for me. Power-ups are completely random and they usually don't help much (I hate getting those water balloons...) and I'm having lots of trouble finding a good enough car for newcomers to the game, as they all seem to be highly unbalanced, either focusing on speed but neglecting maneuverability and handling, or the other way around. I've beaten the Bronze Cup on the lowest difficulty, but, to be honest, it's just way too easy... all the cars go slow as hell and it takes forever to end as little as 3 laps. I just wished there was an intermediate difficulty that was just intermediate, instead of the boring-easy and the newcomer-unfriendly second difficulty.

The game looks fun, though, so I guess I'll keep trying to get more into it, maybe time and trial and error will help, it sure looks like a good enough game to have installed, it doesn't take too much space and it seems casual enough for me to pick it up and race a bit every once in a while.

RC Bandit and Toyeca will get you thru the Championships.

Thanks! I'll give those cars a try. As to the controls, I think I'll stick to my ASD to flip, reposition and fire and IJKL to accelerate, reverse and steer (I would use the arrow keys but I have multitap issues with my keyboard).

[EDIT] Thank you so very much, RC Bandit is a whole lot easier to control. I still don't have Toyeca unlocked, but I beat Silver Cup fairly easily with RC Bandit on Console mode. The Gold Cup was starting to annoy me, so I gave up, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get first place, too, with a bit more time put into it. The car still doesn't handle quite as I'd hope it to, but it sure is an improvement over the others I tried.

Gold Cup is a lot harder and it will require some weeks of practice.

I recommend RC Bandit for the Bronze tracks, Aquasonic for the Silver Cup, and Bertha Ballistics for the Gold Cup. Every championshio is related to certain ratings. For the Gold Cup you have to race against Advanced cars & Semi-Pros, so it is more convenient to pick a car of the same level. You can unlock some of the missing cars by collecting some stars that are hidden in the tracks in Practice mode.

Also you have to finish 1st place in all the tracks several times in Single Race before trying the championship mode.

I read your tips and they seem helpful, indeed! After reading your soft turning advice, suddenly ThugsRook control scheme recommendation makes true sense, as accelerating and steering by quickly tapping with the same hand is virtually impossible, unless you stop accelerating altogether and just focus on clicking the steering key you need, which probably doesn't work. Unfortunately, I tried that control layout long enough to realize my brain simply doesn't adapt to having the forward key separate from the other movement keys, as I would often find myself accelerating with a key that did nothing, or trying to steer with a key that either flipped my car or fired the weapon...

I'm also not too keen on the whole "you need to finish every race first place several times before you move into the championships" advice you gave, as that strikes me as boring... championships offer variety, at least, as you move from track to track as the cup progresses. Doing the same track over and over just sounds like a chore, to me, I'm not overly fond of grinding in video games, be it racing games or any other genre. I was hoping I could just play the game at my own pace, but apparently it would seem I'm looking for a more laid-back, casual experience out of a game that's meant to be quite hardcore. Oh, well, I'll be sure to give your tips a chance, even though I'll keep my forward+reverse+steering set to IJKL.

Turning v-sync off definitely helped me. In the freezer of the Supermarket 2 level, my car kept spinning out no matter how careful or slow I entered it, after turning v-sync off, I have easily beaten it.

The problem in the higher levels seems to be too perfect A.I. If a car takes the lead and separates from the group, it seems impossible to catch up :(.

Thank you. I managed to get 2nd place in the Platinum Cup using the d-pad of my PS2 controller, but it was sooo hard, I'm talking R.C. Pro-Am style hard. Then I read your post, turned off v-sync, and eeeverything was hunky-dory. Won the Platinum Cup first try. Wow. What a difference. I think I'll go back and play through the whole game again, actually. :D
