I'm at the level where I can learn the technique that involves using the "thrust attack" 3 times while moving (can't remember what the move is called). Major issue however is the dummy that is supposed to be there has completely disappeared. This completely soft locks me as I can't hit anything with the combo so I can't end the sequence. The door to go back outside (or inside the house) is completely locked.

I don't know how or why. I've reinstalling, fiddling with files, restarting my PC, and occasionally I can have it so the dummy initially appear there, but as soon as the trainer dude does starts his demonstration of the skill, the dummy disappears. I've tried duelling as well but that doesn't solve anything. I don't know if I can load an older save file that can fix this either if it is permanently bugged.

I'm on Windows 11, using dgVoodoo. This never happened before with the other learning techniques and I have no idea how to fix it as I've looked everywhere online and haven't found anything relatable.

Any ideas anyone?

Edit: I think I've diagnosed it for anyone else who happens to encounter this too. Once Locke starts to say "I'm preparing for the caves" when speaking to Jong, this bug seems to occur. This I think occurs once you have left Arakna island.

I did also find a way around it, which is using debug mode. Once you start learning new technique and dummy disappears, type in chat: debug

Note, you need to be out of combat stance to type this, and to chat, hit ENTER, and ENTER again once debug is typed. Then, press F12.

Then, you need to summon some enemies onto the field, like some small spiders, and perform the new combo on them. This doesn't seem super reliable, but this did work. How you do this is by navigating the right hand panel that appears, selecting I think "C", find, say Araknid, click it, and this will summon it. Then, hit ESC. (I did try just summoning another dummy, but they don't seem to be counted as enemies that you can actually hit, or I just missed it).

Just make sure you make a backup save before doing anything. Unfortunate you kind of have to break reality just to progress the game properly, but better than nothing I guess.

Update: the above technique did work once, but the game seems stubborn no matter how hard you try. However, I did end up finding an even easier method. Before speaking to Jong, type your debug message to enable the cheat, but do not hit F12 yet. Then, speak to Jong, click to learn new technique and WHILE he is talking about teaching you a new technique, hit F12 in the middle of it. Stay in debug mode until he has finished talking. Then, hit ESC. This seems to trick the game, as it stops you from having to demonstrate the new combo, but you now have the new combo. This doesn't appear to break the script, and you can now go on your merry way with the new combo, Much easier. However, if you haven't played this game before, you may want to save beforehand, and don't do this first so you actually know what combo you are learning as the game won't tell you if you do this.

Final Update: Found the issue. Having a weapon inside a pouch, which is inside a pouch causes this bug. I have contacted GOG so they are aware of this. So, don't do the aforementioned and everything should be fine!
