AucardThe3rd: the only issue I have is that I can't use the d-pad on my Xbox controller when playing re2. I tend to use the pad when it comes to tank controls as its easier than using the sticks.
I'm using a DualShock 4 and both the D-pad and the analog stick works.
Seafarinhare: I believe this is a problem with the games not being able to recognize a change in input devices while it's running(even though it was only disconnected for a moment). More of an issue with older games, I think.
GOG doesn't actually have controller support like Steam does. Part of this is because GOG Galaxy isn't required to be running in order to play the games, since they're 100% DRM free. In short, GOG's controller support is terrible, because it's non-existent(outside of the game itself, which to it's credit, DOES recognize a wider range of controllers than the original PC release).
Did you tested this out with Cyberpunk? Does it have the same problem? It's just hard to believe that GOG can't implement a fix, that at least remedies this if you play on Galaxy.
