Just a comment about PC version, all extra content is available, on PS1 version for example, it was necessary to beat the game twice (cenarios A and B with Rank A) to get 4th survivor and Extreme battle, and six times to get Tofu, but PC version everything is there, of course special weapons aren't, but I remember I was driven to beat the game back then to get that extra content...
Nope.

The PlayStation version requires the player complete both scenarios with high ranks in order to unlock these missions
Only the Playstation version required you to complete the scenarios with high ranking.
Yup, on PC almost everything is unlocked from the first boot, besides a few things. Not sure why GOG added those to the QOL list, it makes it sound like they changed it to be so, but it was always like that.

This is exactly what I just said, maybe my poor English made it a confusion.
Cool that everyone gets a chance to play these modes in this version but tbh, if you can't get the highest rank in the main campaign, you probably won't make it through 4th Survivor.
A little curiosity I noticed. I played both the japanese PC version and US PC version now and in the japanese one, after I finished the 1st and 2nd scenario with the highest rank each I got the weapon unlock notification and the image with text telling me how to summon zombie Brad.

In the US version however I also got the original screen telling me that I now unlocked 4th survivor. Must've been an oversight by the porting team that they left it in, of course nothing happens afterwards, you don't actually get to make a Hunk save like you did in the PS1 version because it doesn't work like that in this version. But still, the unlock notification was still there. Happened after both Leon B and Claire B.

Assuming it is as hard to unlock this screen in this version as it was in the originals, its understandable that GOG team would rather change lines of code to unlock it from the go instead of going all the way to the end with highest rank and good time to know that this screen was left there in the end. Or maybe they knew about it and left it there for nostalgia sake?

Really interesting fact. Thanks for sharing. :)
