When you go down to get the dormitory key (silver one), you go to a room to lower the water level, the red light is so red that I was like: "omg!"

in my memory, on PS1 version that light is much less red.

Is it possible to fix that?

The reason why it's not that red is most likely because composite cables in a PS1 or RF which crush every single colour possible, I mean it could be legit worse on PC I don't know but I know I used to use composite and it made all games look darker and more disgusting.

This is actually the correct colour... lol disturbing but true. It's all I've ever seen on PC.
