I downloaded the game and opened it, but it only showed a black screen for a few seconds before automatically exiting.
My computer uses the following hardware:
CPU: Intel Xeon E3 - 1271 v3
GPU: AMD RX6650XT
RAM:32GB DDR3 1866MHz
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A
OS: Windows 10 LTSC 2021

I don't know why,but it just won't work for me.

Here is fix,form Resident Evil - Seamless HD Project.

if anyone else is willing to try, here are the steps to reproduce what i just did:
1 - Install the game and the SHDP mod as instructed by the SHDP team
2 - Get dgVoodoo2
3 - from the dgVoodoo2 archive extract the following files:
dgvoodoo.conf
MS/x86/DDraw.dll
MS/x86/DD3DImm.dll

4 - rename DDraw.dll to re_ddraw.dll, and move all of the files you extracted to the root of the game folder where Biohazard.exe is located
5 - open dgvooodoo.conf in notepad, scroll down past the [DirectX] section, change VideoCard = internal3D to VideoCard = ati_radeon_8500 and VRAM = 256 to VRAM = 4GB. To remove the dgVoodoo watermark from your game, change dgVoodooWatermark = true to dgVoodooWatermark = false.
6 - save the file and run the game

The Classic Rebirth DLL for Resident Evil 1 didn’t work for AMD GPU users. If they’re using that DLL for Windows support, they didn’t fix the AMD GPU bug. You have black behind the text and corrupted textures. Gemini refused to ever update the DLL to fix this issue. If GOG didn’t create their own support, that is the issue, and you’ll have to reach out to GOG and tell them or request a refund. RE2 and RE3 work with Gemini’s Classic Rebirth DLL; it’s just a Resident Evil 1 issue. Kind of lame if you ask me, considering they used someone else’s work without fixing the issues beforehand.

Thank you for reporting this - saved me a wasted purchase.

Already got burnt with "doesnt work on AMD" with Terra Bomber and Terra Lander II - both of which continue to up for sale but simply won't work on AMD cards.

Its a shame - would have been instant buy (I was hovering over the instant buy until I noticed that RE 2 and RE 3 weren't available yet, so came to the forum looking for a release date, noticed your thread)
FWIW, I have a Radeon RX 7800 XT, and it launches just fine for me. Doesn't rule out other AMD GPUs having problems, but your issue doesn't seem specific to all AMDs.
Got it to work on my amd GPU by modifying an existing lutris install script. I need to clean it up a bit, and then figure out how to put it on the lutris site.

Thanks for that info

WIll be interesting to hear any other feedback on RDNA2 vs RDNA3 GPUs

Can you please elaborate a bit on your system? Did you install it on win 10 / 11 or a linux system like Steam Deck / Ubuntu / etc?
Did you have to tinker around or did it work right out of the gate?

Do you have working FMV's?

Didn't realize that the FMV were missing, currently looking into it, the log says:
```
0024:fixme:mciavi:MCIAVI_mciPlay Unsupported flag 01000001
```
Also since someone else mentioned their graphics card: I am running an AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT.

ROG Ally, AMD Z1 extreme

The game does not start, an error message pops up:

"Failed to initialize the Graphic Hardware Device.(3)"

you might need to install the dgvoodoo2 wrapper. Are you using windows or linux?

Try if this one helps:
- Download and install the japanese Version from gog (Installer supports english, so no worries there), keep the standard settings as they are
- Go to: https://classicrebirth.com/index.php/download/biohazard-pc-cd-rom-patch-version-1-01/ and download said patch. use the biohazard.exe to replace the biohazard.exe in your base installation
- Go to: https://classicrebirth.com/index.php/download/resident-evil-dll-fix-for-classic-edition/ and download it. use the ddraw.dll in that archive to replace the ddraw.dll in your base installation.

Does your game start with that?

Windows 11, it's a desktop PC. No tinkering, I just installed it and launched it. I see that it has a settings app, but I didn't mess with that yet.
