Greetings everybody!
As a brand new player to RB3D, I must admit my inability to adapt to the learning curve that seems to come with this game, as it's been around for so many years. I guess I'd really like some advice on what patches are good to add to the GOG download of the game. The only other flying game of this sort I've played is Flying Corps Gold, and I must say, RB3D has so many more dedicated players working to improve it, though I also enjoy FCG a lot, too.
lordhof, you clearly have a good history with this game, and I've seen mention of a Western Front patch, new terrain patches mentioned at Flybert's, even the red zepplin. What should a beginner have to optimize this game and really make it even more visually pleasing, while also adding more options for play, like these other plane models I see mentioned at Flyberts?
Otherwise, I'm curious to know if anybody else has a sort of sound fluctuation, or distortion upon startup of the 3D game. It seems to affect the music quality during the intro and main menu, but during gameplay, there's no noticible distortion.
I'm really excited about this game and all of its many add-ons and history, so any advice on souping it up is appreciated! Odds are I'll need some technical help as well, but I'll ask those questions as they come.
