Anyone else experience this with RB3D: I installed the recommended files to make the game glide compatible, started it up, all was well, then when I started a mission, and proceeded to the actual flying sim part, the game goes into a windowed mode of sorts, with only about 1/4 of the screen being used for the game surrounded by a black border. Then when the mission is aborted or ended, the whole thing just crashes.
I am running Windows 7 x64 for the record. Thanks

I am not used to the partial screen showing. I am however used to the crash at the abort/exit in Vista 64.

For me, the crash at exiting/ending/aborting is caused by using Terrain that is not stock. If I use the OTE or Promised Land terrain, I get the crash. But the terrain that comes with the game, no crash. One possible fix (but not in my case, but has been for others with non-Vista) is go into the game folder and see if there is a file called brief.dat. If there is, delete it (it is created at the end of every mission.

As to "he game goes into a windowed mode of sorts, with only about 1/4 of the screen being used for the game surrounded by a black border,", two things, one is a possible fix, one is an ability to find the problem if the 'fix' isn't a fix.

The possible Fix: make sure the screen resolution for the game does not match your Desktop resolution settings. IE, if you want to fly in 1024x768 mode, make sure your monitor settings when at desktop are at something else, such as 1280x1024 or 800x600.

The other thing is what Glide Wrapper (and version number) are you using and what are the settings? My XP loved OpenGL wrapper, whereas my Vista machine preferred an older version of DGVooDoo (v1.04)

Using DGVooDoo worked as I was using a different Glide Wrapper before. It fixed both problems. Thanks
Glad to hear.
Which version of DGVooDoo? Do you know?
