I do not know if they are using security, but if they are, you need to make sure you have the non-GOG version of Barronmmp.exe in your game folder, else you will be booted for having a non-compatible version of RB3D, this is due to GOG removing the request for a CD.

I have a copy of the stock, properly patched version of baronmmp.exe posted here:
