Tell me about it! I didn't play the first one but folks out there say exactly what your stating.
In a midst of tons of titles very similar I'm happy to see something unique ;)

The main issue is that is a completly different gam from Rebel Galaxy when it comes to how to fly and shoot at things, if you are fine with that it's a great game otherwise you might hate it with a passion.
It is a Wing Commander Privateer remake and most of the points in common with RG are the same RG had with Privateer in the first place which is basically the trading and how randomly generated side missions are structured.
