timotaka: All the FMVs look oddly squat, like it's been stretched out horizontally or squashed vertically. I looked around for screenshots and videos of the game, and apparently that's just how the FMV clips always are. Is there absolutely no way of altering this? From screenshots the resolution of the videos as displayed is 640x280, which is a pretty damn weird ratio. From trying to stretch that out a bit myself in a graphics program I would say that 640x360 would look much better, which coincides with 16:9 widescreen ratio.
Did you set "aspect" in DOS box to:
aspect = true
?
That maintains the aspect ratio no matter how high you've set the screen resolution. I run the game at 1920x1200 (16:10/8:5), use the direct3d DOSbox setting along with the HQ2x.fx pixel shader, and use the HQ3x screen scaler function. Everything scales properly with aspect=true, along with the FMV.
I'm running the original game under DOSbox .74 (SVN-Daum version), but I've seen of late that GoG is using a truncated version of DOSbox that may or may not support all of the configuration options for the dosbox.conf configuration file that are accessible with the full DOSbox version.
