I downloaded ROTH a couple of days ago and I have run into the problem of the game not being able to display at full screen even after going into the dosbox config file to change the screen and the aspect ratio. So, is there a way to get the visuals to appear in full screen. also is there away to remap the controls? the reason is that fighting monsters is really hard when attack is the alt key that acts like a turbo button.

Cannot help with the visuals unfortunately (for me it works), but the controls see http://www.gog.com/forum/realms_of_the_haunting/changing_the_control_layout. Remember to remove the existing bindings from the keys you want to map, too.
thank you for that, but the black screen is more like dos box cannot render the graphics at full screen but i have been able to do it with other dosbox games but I just don't know how to get the screen to work with it.
I know I'm late but did you fix this problem yet? I think I had the same problem you did but I fixed it by editing the DosBOX config file. All I did was change the output field from surface to overlay and had no problems with full screen after that

I run mine with "direct3d" because I like to experiment with the shader effects--not a lot of difference, so far, but some. I run the game full screen @1920x1200, BUT...folks should realize that the highest resolution this game can attain natively is 640x480 (you need to use the svga_s3 driver or you will be limited to 320x400 max, say, with the svga_paradise dosbox driver.) So even at 1920x1200 all I'm seeing is 640x480 *scaled* up to that res, plus some shader effects--so it looks very much like it would look at 640x480 full screen. Lots of older games work like this. This is not a 3d game, but can still be run through D3d, anyway--most games can (only a very few of the oldest games require the surface/overlay drivers for dosbox output.) It's a matter of personal taste, really, and YMMV.
