I loved everything about the first one, right up till my very first combat encounter. Spent literally days on end crafting the perfect party, only to discover the combat grid. Tiny, blurry sprites for characters, ridiculously you cannot fire any spells or missile weapons diagonally, and the combat area only using a tiny piece of the total screen real estate all combined to an immediate uninstall. Looking at the screenshots, it looks so much better than in actual play. I'm wondering if perhaps the third installment at least might be somewhat improved in these respects?

Well, I am now playing 1st one but I know in 2nd and 3rd you can cast spells and shoot diagonally.

As for other stuff i think it is the same, maybe take a look at some LP on YouTube?
