I have Quake 1 from GOG and I want to play multiplayer with bots. How can I add them? Is there a special command from the console or do I have to download them separateley?

There is no official (or any kind half-official) bots for Quake series up to... only Q3 have them, if a remember correctly. And half-official bots for Quake 2 in Retail and GOG Quad Damage re-edition additional CD addons (Eraser bot, should be started from GOGQ2 launcher and choose Eraser addon).

So you should find and download them separatly, if there is such bots for Q1.

Ok but I have seen people playing Quake 1 with bots. The problem is I don't know how to instal them properly and from what source. Can you help?

You can use the mod Reaper Bots, works great.

The creater, Steven Polge later on worked for Epic and made the bots for the Unreal games.
