As disappointing it was when GOG was forced to remove the OST from Quake 1 I must admit I never really cared for it to be honest. The first track during the menu was awesome but the rest doesn't do anything for me.

Anyway, is there an easy way to just get your own music to play in the game. I tried just copying music files but that didn't work.

For your own music to be played in vanilla release, you need to put tracks in OGG format into MUSIC folder, named Track02.ogg - Track##.ogg and rename _winmm.dll to winmm.dll

if you want any CD with music to play during the game, you just need to have it in drive and the game should read from it. No file rename required.

Ah cools. I take it this trick will also work for the OGG tracks from the first released version of the game that was later altered.

Just for curiosity, what kind of music do you like while playing Quake?
