That's all.
I just bought this game, having heard such good things. I must say it completely lives up to its reputation. I've played it for 5 hours continuously after buying it. Collecting, fighting, platforming... I only stopped because my power failed :D
Fantastic game. And with my Xbox 360 Controller very easy to play.
Also, mostly thanks to the art direction, the game holds up very well graphically to this day.
I know this is a slightly older topic, but it's only one of a dozen or so in the thread and so there's little reason to make another thread simple for the purpose of saying how much we love this game...
I first played it on the PS2 about 2 years ago. I'd heard rumours of how awesome it was, but never got around to trying it because of time, money, or other issues. I finally rented it one day and couldn't put it down. The game was addicting and fun, I found everything before I'd finished it.
The only bad thing I'll say about it is how unbalanced and difficult it gets in the last area compared to the rest of the game. I don't think I had any trouble with the game until that moment.
Still, when I get some more money, I plan to buy this game from GOG, as well as a couple others. Maybe after Christmas I'll have some funds.
Just bought it a few days ago. Time to see what all the fuss is about. :-)
I <3 this game as well, excpet I'm not going to take it to a sleezy motel to show my love.
Anyway...the thing about this game is the story. It's bright, it's vibrant, it's simply wonderful. It starts off REALLY slow and gives you the WRONG feeling. This is probably what turns people off in the beginning. In the beginning it feels like a after school special about the "uniquely" gifted. A little later it evolves into the all out youthful adventure, with childish wonder, that we've all come to know and love in adventure games as a kid. Some parts of the game get very repeditiv e, but this is a game you should be able to overlook it's negative qualities to enjoy the character, the silly and slighly dark story, and oogle all of the in game goodies that you unlock along the way. Some, like the artwork, shows how much thought went into the game.
Just got this game. I really should have played it when it first came out. I am pleased to report that it has aged like vintage wine. Great dialogue, characters, graphics, art direction, and it's actually fun to play.
I've been playing for a couple of hours and I must say that I'm very pleased I decided to check it out. So much fun, I can't stop!
I'm considering buying this, after all these good opinions.
Many gamers compare the 'epicity' of this game to Half-Life's or Warcraft's, so i just wanted to be sure.
Is this game really so good, that it can be put into Top10 of all time?

Yes. I'm not even a fan of 3d platformer games and I enjoyed this one, couldn't put the game down once I started playing. You have to play past the first "level"(the hub doesn't count) though because its a poor indicator of how great the game is.

Yes, it's simply an awesomely fun game. Even though it falls outside of my typical genres of choice (RPG, TBS, RTS) it quickly became one of my favorite games of all time when I first played it about a year ago. It's one of the few games I can (and do) recommend to people regardless of what their normal game preferences are. So definitely buy the game; you won't regret it.

I've bought it twice now. Once on Steam and got another copy from Gog yesterday. That's how good it is.
However, unlike Ralackk and DarrkPhoenix, I love 3D platformers.
Damn - because of you i just have to get this game ASAP.
When i'll get it, i'll write my impressions - that's for sure.
The game rocks.....i must admit i havent bought the GOG version, because i already got it both for PS2, AND got my nice PC version, signed by Tim Shaefter :)
I also have this for the pc. I heard of it and saw it at big lots so I picked it up. It's a fun platformer with loads of humor and neat details that you probably will miss in a first play through. It should have sold better but at least it will be regarded as a classic.
I actually bought this game years ago from BigLots of all places for a few bucks. Thinking it might keep me interested for an hour or two. Needless to say, I didn't even touch another game on my PC until I had finished it. So much fun, and quite different from the games I was used to playing on PC. I understand there are many more similar-type games on consoles rather than PC though.
Anyone able to recommend a similar PC title ?
