I've heard about how great this game is, but the state of the PC version seems sad indeed.
I can't run the thing at the right resolution, because at my monitors native resolution it wants to run at 75HZ which is out of my monitors range. There doesn't seem to be a way to fix this.
Even something as basic as mouse control is broken. With vysnc off, the mouse behaves normally in the menus, but is unusably slow in game. With vysnc on the mouse works at normal speed in game, but very slow in odd diagonal movements in the menus.
I also have an annoying FPS counter at the top right hand of the screen that I can't figure out how to go away.
The game might be good, but this is a very poor port and it shows.
Sounds like your computer is pretty poor too.
I have never had any problems, what kind of computer do you have? (specs?) and what OS do you use?
I also have wonky vertical mouse movement in menus and first person, but the really annoying thing was when the game crashed and froze, requiring me to open the task manager with ctrl-alt-del just to get back to the desktop to click "close program" on the error message.
The mouse movement doesn't bother me too much. I just hope FPP doesn't become important to the game later on. That is, if I can get any further without it crashing.
My computer is pretty poor.... a 3.8GHz I7 with 12GB of ram, 5870, a Profire 2626, and a set of Sennheiser HD650's ;)
Anyway, found out that the stupid FPS meter thing was just ATI Tray Tools acting funny.
Hooking up a 360 game pad fixed the control issues.
I'm still unable to run at full res, but with 8x super sampling it looks good enough....
Oh, and does anyone know how to get that "q" "e" "mouse 2" pop up in the bottom right to go away? it's highly annoying...

Yes, take it out and give it to me.

did you have to do anything to get the controller to work? i have tried to use mine, but to no avail. also i can not get my mouse to control the camera. the buttons work, and it works fine in menus, but it not in the game. also, what is your system rating, according to windows? only applies if you are running vista or windows 7. which i am, if that makes any difference.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound like an asshole:) must've been one of those days.
I'm playing on a 24" iMac with a 3.06 ghz dual core, 4 gb of ram and a ATi Radeon 4850HD under Windows XP at 1920x1200 resolution and maximum gfx settings.
Everything is silky smooth and I haven't had a single glitch.
I'll second the call on the mouse thing. Didn't realise it was changed by setting the vsync though, cheers.
Still, this game handles like a poor port of a console game, which it unfortunately is, because apart from the computer taking control of the camera at bad times (like when fighting a boss) and the sluggish mouse handling it is a very cool game.
I might add that it is rare these days to find games that don't take themselves too seriously and remember that playing games can be FUN, but this is one of them!
However, considering the age of the game it is unlikely that any remaining PC issues will be solved.
I'm having a fair bit of trouble with this too. I bought it having read that the xbox pad works beautifully with it, but I've had a fair few problems! It doesn't seem to register the shoulder buttons and for the life of me, I can't figure out why. It means that I've got a few commands left out at present. I'm hoping that they will become available later on when I've unlocked new moves or whatever.
Generally, I'm pretty disappointed by this game though. Still, I'll reserve judgement until I've played it a bit longer.
Hey.
I've made a mistake. I accidentally set the resolution too high, and I can't get it back down again, the upshot of which is that I can't see a damn thing.
Does anyone know how to lower the resolution without opening the game?
