I've found everything in level 1 now.... it's not a bug... it's intentional.
So it looks like the game rewards you for not caring about how often you die (no death penality, you are basically invincible all the time). Just collect everything and die as often as you want. Nothing will stop you. Furthermore if you are playing for score, it is advised to first do a collection run because you will get the 1000 points every time you finish the level once you've found all of the secrets on a previous run.
Having no death penatilty and a pretty broken scoring system really can destroy all of the fun someone might have with this game. If you use the checkpoints there simply is no point in playing it for survival or score, because both doesn't feel satisfying.
If you want to manually restart the entire level every time the game over screen pops up... sure, you can do that if that's your thing. You'll get a message with the choice to do so after each death. But regarding the checkpoint system, this game is less designed as a shooter and more like a gory walking simulator, which is a shame.
Now don't get me wrong. Having to start at the beginning of a map does lend the experience a pretty intense amount of exitement when your health is getting low. That's fine with me. But If you have cheat checkpoints with no death penality all over the place there should be a more complex scoring system which doesn't reward you for cheating.
