I have bought Prison Architect and tried to download to Applications twice; however upon execution I get a message saying that the file is damaged, cannot be opened, and should be moved to Trash.

If anybody has seen this error before or knows what I am doing wrong, any advice would be most welcome.

Same error here :
“Prison Architect.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should eject the disk image.

And this error message is misleading in fact, we simply need to go to preferences -> security and allow apps from downloaded from everywhere. Let the games runs once and then we can re-establish the security settings.

Thanks for the replies. I did try and download the file a few times, and my Broadband is pretty solid, so I was fairly sure the file wasn't damaged. I was trying to start up the game directly from Applications - which to date is how I get into all my GOG games. I'd also downloaded Read Only Memories, and that played fine.

I got around this problem by installing the GalaxyClient beta and starting the game up through that. Seems to work OK now.

Same thing happened here, so getting GOG.com Galaxy was the way to go! It all works fine now, no glitches even on my 2012 Mac Mini.
Hey guys,

had a look on my end and the files were downloading and running without issue. If you continue to have issues with downloading, try using Galaxy or doing the following:

- Go to Applications -> Terminal
- Type in:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine
but don't press Enter.
- Drag the application to the Terminal window, this should add the path.
- Press Enter.

Failing both of those, drop our good ol' support team a line :). They'll be happy to help!

Despite the error message I've seen a number of users report solution #2 fixes the problem on other games:
Game "can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store" error message
a) System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> unlock to make changes -> select Mac App Store and identified developers.
or
b) Right-click (or cmd-click) the game -> Open -> confirm Open.
