Friends, fans, and critics of Primordia! As a small way of saying thank you for all of your support and encouragement, and of rewarding those who became invested in Primordia's universe, we will soon be releasing something new, set in that universe: Fallen.

I can say with utter certainty that, if not for the vibrant discussion of the game here on GOG, I wouldn't have budged from my position of not returning to the Primordia universe. I can also say with utter certainty that but for the direct involvement of a GOG regular, Fallen would not have been created.

You can read more about it on our Facebook page, which is also where we will initially be releasing it. Hopefully it will be something that fans of Primordia can love, and something that can draw some new folks into the fold.

Wow. I literally finished Primordia for the first time not an hour ago, and go onto the forums for some spoilerlicious reading... and I see a sequel announcement thread!
Good to hear we will be able to revisit this world soon, I found it intriguing, depressing, thought-provoking, and above all extremely unique. I'm sure will be a pleasure (a gloomy pleasure, perhaps, but a pleasure nevertheless).
DAMAGE CONTROL MODE: ACTIVATED

The reason they're releasing Fallen on their Facebook page first seems to be that they've recently took it over from another developer who used to be named Wormwood Studios, and need traffic. I hate facebook as much as every other privacy nut, but let's be mindful of the marketing needs of small developers.

If you use facebook, please like their page. As of now, they only have 117 likes.

... 117 likes? Oh.

Ohoho. Suprise, alarm and joy at the same time.

Even though you said you wouldn't go for a sequel, this is great to hear. I suppose.. because I get the impression that the second part is going to be final. In several ways. That there's a lot of material to work with to interfere with the themes you see from the inside of the city, from a different point of view this time. And I imagine that those put together would make the two games sit back to back in a way that would be a first for sequels in adventure games, but also unique in video-games generally. Where you typically have a sequel without much of a goal other than extend the first game a bit longer.

*cough* No pressure, though :p
I just finished the game, and started looking for hints about Primordia 2.

The game was great, and I really enjoyed the story. While searching for Primordia 2, I read some of the reviews of Primordia, I find it fascinating that so many "over" analyze the story, which makes you think and imagine what could have been.
I don't have any complaints about the story, how it ended, or about the sidekick and so on. But the one thing I agree on, is that I wanted to see more! The game felt a bit short, leaving me wanting more!
But that is probably how sequels are made :p

Fallen will most likely give me more of that world, and I'm really looking forward to the story and atmosphere you will create in Fallen.
Not that I took all the references in Primordia, but I hope you keep making cool references in Fallen too. I also hope to see cameo appearances of known characters from Primordia ;) Or maybe references to what happened in that story?
SEMI SPOILER!
It could be hard given the multiple choice ending, but it's probably fair to assume that MetroMind at some point terminated. And since it is your story, you are free to assume a specific ending - even though some players chose a different path.
END SEMI SPOILER!;

Given the great storytelling, music, arts and atmosphere you created in Primordia, you have a lot of possibilities to unfold in a new game.

As a fan of old school adventure games, and especially those classics with arts similar to what you created, I remember enjoying some of the animations. Sort of lost focus of what my mission was when I used that robot arm to melt the heavy metal door. Old school graphics of a laser melting a door! What a sight!

Good luck on your next project, I hope it will be a success!

Thanks so much for all the kind words, but especially the comments about that animation. Victor slaved away at that animation for days, I think as a way of showing up everyone who complained about too few frames of animation in Horatio's walk cycle. :D
Sounds great! And I don't care if it would be a "real" sequel. But it would be nice to see some chars from Primordia again. Especially Crispin has touched my heart! (or should I say "I've FALLEN in love with him"?) :D
Damn I can't wait for this. Are Wadjet Eye games involved in fallen as well?

No, though they'll help promote it. It's not a game.
Read it, it's short, it's good.

But are you absolutely sure you're not going to start drafting a story about the state of Urbania? :D

I suppose in my head, Urbania is a place that has very lofty ideals, and is fighting an enemy far off for extremely righteous reasons, etc. But I'm not sure I'd be disappointed to find out something else either.
