Hey all,
I just recently bought Postal 2 from GOG and installed it to my machine running Windows 7. However, when I try to run the game (set to run as administrator) I get the following error:
Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling Direct3D Acceleration in the Display1/2 tab after installing DirectX 8.1b (or later) and the latest drivers for your graphics card.
When I go to dxdiag, there is no option letting me enable Direct3D acceleration. Anybody have any ideas?
Try running in compatibility mode (right click then choose "Troubleshoot Compatibility" ..You may even have to re-install it in compatibility mode...maybe in widows XP compatibility or something..give it a shot....windows 7 work great for me with all toher gog games but i havent installed Postal 2 yet so curious to see how you get on..hope this helped.
So, have either of you got it to work?
I've never had this problem, and I'm a Win7 user. However, I have had an unrelated issue: the game crashes whenever I enter the library in the game.

Yeah, it runs for me straight 'out of the box' on Windows 7 x64, but I've only started it up and started a new game to run around for a couple of minutes and check that it did work.
I found that enabling compatibility mode (WinXP SP3) and administrator mode fixes things. The downside is that you cannot access your saved games from before you switch to compatibility mode.
it should just run the way it is but not run in admin then change it to windows 98/me in compatibility if that don't work then try it in 680x640 something like that or if that don't work face it windows 7 sucks bad
