when i install into the ubisoft/pod2_0 folder, the sound does not work correctly. the sound buttons in the options are not available and the sound is very choppy and grainy. however, when i let the install run default, the sound works better and the sound options are available. in both cases, the sound effects are much, much louder than the music. which i would like to reverse.

also, with the recommended install location, the game freezes on exit every time whereas the default location install does not do that.

i would let the game just run from the default location but, i can't use cdpatcher2.

any advice on these issues?

Since the CD audio track is emulated with the Track02.mp3 and both are effectively using the same output device, you cannot set different volumes for Music and Sound FX.

Are you sure that no compatibility settings are enabled for the PODX3Dfx.exe (maybe a leftover from previous installations/tests in this directory)?

i disabled the compatibility setting. THE SOUND WORKS!!! awesome.

i just wish i could balance the sound effects and the music. even if i turn the sfx all the way down to zero and the music all the up to 100, i can only faintly hear the music. it wasn't that way back in the day. i can't be the only person experiencing this.

also, the compatibility setting seems to have resolved the lockup issues.

now get arcade working!!!!!!!!!!!!!
