Never played this game, or anything like this, but it looks like something I might want to try. Is this a good buy?

Also, what are some of the best mods? Best improvement mods?

We're talking about a legendary cRPG here, maybe the best in history of gaming. If you like to read a lot, you should buy it without any doubts. Just remember that the game relies heavily on dialogues, so you'll need a lot of time to get through it.

For mods check this site: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/64309/mods-for-pst-ee. Choose the ones that you like. One of the most noteworthy is PST: Unfinished Business which adds unfinished content that was removed from the game by developers.
