I did about everything I could in Sigil (all sidequests cleared) and I'm basically ready to go for portal to Ravel witch. I play first time so I don't know how far in game this is but my guess would be 1/3 to 1/2 of a game judging by average playthrough time I found. I'm currently level 9 and my companions are 8/7 and I wonder if it isn't to low? I heard that people finish this game somewhere between level 20-30 which with my current leveling speed seems really crazy unless you get ridiculous amounts of experience later.

Also I want to do this Modron Maze but I'm not sure when. Right now this larva things in undersigil beats me pretty hard in bigger groups and I heard enemies in maze are even tougher so should I wait with this?

Level 9 is fine. If you've done all the sidequest then the only option left to raise your level is Undersigil and Modron Maze. The first one is too hard for this faze of the game. Modron Maze has regulated difficulty level. Once you get to the control room you can change it as you like. The tough difficulty is too hard for now, but you shouldn't have much problems with the easy setting (the Maze starts on this level). Beware though, if you enter Modron Maze, you won't be able to get out until you reach the control room.

I finished highest difficulty Modron Maze including final boss. Wasn't that bad with slightly cheesy tactics :P

Congratulations. :) You're probably playing a warrior, right? As you may know, you can reset the Modron Maze and farm experience there. Farming in Undersigil is more efficient however.

Thanks. Yes, warrior, that probably makes things easier a bit. I really don't like playing mages in Infinity Engine games though.

Yeah I already used undersigil to farm up one level before doing Modron Maze but I think that's enough.

It sure is. You'll get tons of experience in the second part of the game. If you decide to farm more, it can get too easy.
Just for the record: I finished the game with my TNO at 38 level. So yeah, there is ridiculous amount of XP in second half of the game.

I was also farming quite a bit before final stage just for fun and opened the sphere which gave me like 8 levels so without it would be at least 10 levels less.
BTW I know it's not exactly combat oriented game but it's shame that we basically have no possibilities to make use of all that cool end-game gear and abilities. I was preparing my party to shine in Fortress and, well, it turned out to be something very different than I expected.

My record was 101 level. Enough to defeat without any problems any of the D&D gods. Heck of a lot of farming. After that I had enough of this game for 10 years. :) Too bad I don't have any screenshots. From what I've heard Transcendent One level scales with the level of Nameless One. It gains its full potential around 80 or 90 level. Not that it makes any change in this overpowered fight. :)

Yeah, the only place we can actually use it for a longer time is Undersigil. Not counting the Rune of Torment which we can use only in the final fight with the Transcendent One.

What in the world possessed you to do that?

It must've been something powerful. ;) It was fun to see that kind of level in a D&D game. Most of them have level cap. Besides I wanted to see if the Transcendent One level scaling is noticeable. It isn't. :) My Nameless One mage humiliated it in melee...
