I'm not entirely sure what exactly is the matter, but without fail, the user-interface seems to crash the minute I scroll over anything. By that, I mean that without fail, the minute I move my mouse after selecting new game, the game freaks out, and I hear a swoosh noise being repeated ad nauseum.

I'm able to get past the character creation screen, and into the game, and the game seems to run fine when i'm out of the menus. When I get into the menus, it seems like random screens flicker on and off, and nothing can be clicked, although a few keys can temporarily get me back to the game. However, at its current state, the game is essentially unplayable, and I have no idea what to do.

I'm currently running windows 8 (I've been having a lot of problems with this and older games, could be an issue,), and currently I have no mods installed. None of the mods seemed to address my issue, because I honestly can't pinpoint the issue in question.

I hear nothing but amazing things about this game, and I relish the opportunity to play it, so, help would be appreciated!

Edit: I've tried installing the mods, yet the problems still persist, although now its assuming that I'm hitting buttons and keys that I'm not. I'm at the end of the rope here, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it too.
