Hey, was playing Planescape (running around doing quests in the Outlands), when my computer suddenly shut down. Since then, whenever i try to load my save files i get this error message:

"An assertion failed in F:\Torment\Source\baldur\InfScreenLoad.cpp at line number 1522"

and the game exits to the desktop.

Any idea what the problem is? My internet here is a bit slow so i haven't tried uninstalling and re-downloading the game yet...but i guess that's my best option?

Any help would be appreciated. :) Loving this game.

It sounds like a resolution problem. If you're using the high-res mod try to ty to re-run it and reset the resolution to what it was before.
The line 1522 error is sometimes associated with corrupted save games, whcih would make sense if a save was in progress when your computer shut down.

Do *all* your saves give this error message when you load them ?

You could try deleting all the files in the games \cache and \temp folders.
Thanks for the replies.

I'm not using any mods.

I can't actually even get to the screen showing my save files - the game cuts on when i click "Resume life" from the main menu. I'll try deleting those files.

Edit: Yep, thanks Kezardin, it was a problem with a corrupt save! I emptied those folders and jumbled around my saves until i found the exact one that was causing the problem. Deleted it and the game worked as normal!

Thanks for the help! :)

How can I find these temporary files? When I open the folder, the only files I see are "manual", "Planescape Torment", "readme", "uninstal" and another folder called "documents". In this folder, there is only one file, which is support.

Thank you.

These are the shortcuts. Right-click one and select "Open file location". This should open the game's main folder. The "cache" and "temp" subfolders hold the temporary files, the "save" one holds the saved games.
