Is there anyway after installing patches to not have to put in a cd..... I don't want to have to also pirate a iso file and mount it..... is there a no cd patch or something?

If you' re talking about the GOG version then you don't install any official patches on the game - if you want to install mods there's a guide for Planescape here :

I have done exactly what that link is telling me to do, but when I open up the game it asks for cd number two.... I have not installed any other patches but the ones off that list...... I can play it fine without the patches...... but I'd like to use the patches.......
Ahh I see I can't seem to install the Bigg widescreen mod or the ghostdog ui mod without the game asking me for cds..... all the other mods work and install fine and allow me to play the game without asking for a cd...... any tips please on getting these two mods above to work without them asking for a cd?> Trev

- install the mods in the order listed.

- run the game after installing the widescreen and GUI mods to make sure they installed ok, then install the rest of the mods.

- if running Vista or Windows 7 try installing the game outside of Program Files eg games\Planescape (or disable UAC)

- If the problem persists, check the torment.ini file in the install directory - it should be pointing to a folder within the install folder.

This is the single most likely point to cause problems in Win7. Even after disabling UAC, I still occasionally have to wrestle control of certain files.
I am not bothering to install the first two mods.... cause I cannot figure out how to make them work.... maybe another day.....

Hmmm I am in the beginning of the game and everything is working fine but when i try to enter the basement or first floor of the mortuarium or whatever the game shuts down immedicately there are two ways to the 1st floor but either one shuts my game down.... any tips?

Have you started a new game after you finished installing mods or did you load up a save? Installing mods will cause previous saves to crash.
After starting a new game with patches installed the game still continue to shut down when attempting to use the stairs to go down to the first level??? What should I do this makes my game useless......
When you say patches, do you mean the official ones or mods? The official ones are incorporated into the GOG install so it installs the game already patched. Putting the patch on again will break bits of the game, notably the removal of the CD check so it'll demand discs
