I'm tired of RPGs with unsatisfying endings, especially when they're rushed, sequel-bait cliffhangers. I miss the days of Final Fantasy VI, Ocarina of Time, and Chrono Trigger where the endings took their time and gave you a sense of closure. Does PoE finish nicely? No need to post any specific spoilers if you can avoid it.
Has anyone who got it on release day actually got to the end yet?

We may have got get back to you... later.
Possible necroing, but YES.

I certainly was satisfied and there are enough variations that I will replay at least one more or even several times. I do recommend talking to people as much as you can in the last dungeon, it's worth it.
I was not satisfied. Or to be more precise, I was not satisfied with certain aspects of the ending, so much so that I had a very rare (and I mean VERY rare) game rage moment at one particular aspect. I'm not saying the ending is bad or anything, or that it won't be just perfect for anybody else, but for me there were things that made me go "WHAT!?"
Well as any decent RPG, it gets epilogues. These epilogues reflect your choices/behavior throughout the game. Not all of them might be what you hoped for when making those decisions, but that is part of a good game too. I certainly felt like they did the game justice.

Besides, the are already working on the expansion, so the end of this game is not necessarily the end of your adventures in Eora.

But you definitely get a resolution for the stuff you originally intended to do.

I'm sure there will be people who won't be completely happy, but it's impossible to tell how you will perceive it. The game doesn't pull any stupid stuff at the end, if that's what you are worried about, I can promise you that much. All characters get epilogues too AND those reflect everything you did as well, so... All in all I think PoE is in a much better, more satisfying range, considering what typically happens at the end of games.

This is completely true. The player character you create gets a satisfying resolution to his/her personal plight in the wake of the game's final moments.

It also needs to be said that your PC's personal motivation and resolution are somewhat seperate from the resolution to the main quest (and thus the story itself). While you get your due closure the ending also raises a small host of philosophical questions and it depends very much on one's personal outlook determine how impactful they end up being.

What bothered you, particularly?

I wont say, because it's too much of a spoiler.
I haven't finished the game yet, but I have a couple hunches about a couple major choices you have to make .....

I'm almost done in Defiance Bay, next stop Dyrwood and east of it. There are already 2 major choices I made, 1 early in the game and the other in Defiance Bay that I didn't even realize I chose until it was too late. And with that 2nd one came somewhat of a "sub-choice" I made ..... I have a feeling all 3 were not the optimal, "good ending" choices - even though the game makes it seem they are at the time. Maybe I'm overthinking it .... but I have a feeling the game is going to be throwing me some curveballs at the end because of those choices.
